From Student to Research Assistant: Collaborative Mentorship in Practice

January 23, 2023

The Lucas Center for Faculty Development invites you to:

From Student to Research Assistant: Collaborative Mentorship in Practice
Facilitated by Dr. Andrea Fortin and Melissa Williams

This interactive learning experience is led by a faculty member and alumni. Together, they will present the progression of how the alumni went from student to course assistant to research assistant through a Seidler Undergraduate Fellowship. This presentation will showcase collaborative mentorship, teaching, and research practices between students and faculty. Additionally, the presenters will discuss the value and outcomes of peer mentorship for courses with service-learning projects. Attendees will walk away with practical tips for how they can also have successful research and classroom partnerships.

***We encourage faculty to invite students who have expressed interest in mentorship by faculty or becoming a research assistant***

This session will be facilitated on Friday, February 24th from 12:00p-1:00p in the Lucas Center (LIB-221) or virtually via Zoom.
