Community Partners

Share your service opportunities with students

Service-learning is an integral part of the FGCU student experience. All FGCU students are required to complete service-learning hours in order to graduate.

We welcome nonprofit organizations and government agencies as community partners, to submit requests for FGCU student volunteers.

Community partners are:

  • Viewed as co-educators
  • Must be willing to integrate learning into each volunteer or service opportunity
  • Required to verify a student’s hours via our online system once the service is completed

In addition to submitting service-learning opportunities, community partners may register to be added as a pre-approved service site.  This registration adds you to a list used by students when they are searching for approved partners in the community. Students use this database to match their interests with appropriate agencies, so it’s important to keep your information up to date.

Questions?  Please contact Justin Fitzgerald, Director of Community Engagement.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:  Safety is a priority when engaging in experiential learning opportunities.  Due to the ongoing pandemic and before engaging in service-learning, we require students read the following COVID-19 safety statement.  Students enrolled in service-learning courses will also be asked to acknowledge this statement in their course.   For the most updated university information please see the FGCU Coronavirus Updates page.   Service-Learning & Civic Engagement staff remain available to assist via phone, email, or to meet individually as needed by appointment via phone or video chat during regular business hours.  Please contact us at servicelearning@fgcu.edu for assistance.
