Excellence In Civic Engagement Award
Toggle More InfoThe Excellence In Civic Engagement Award is a highly competitive honor available to a maximum of ten graduating seniors each semester (fall, spring, and summer). In addition to recognition, this award also comes with a certificate and a special stole to wear during graduation. Although there is a minimum number of service-learning hours required to be considered, this award is much more about the impact of a student’s service-learning experiences on their own growth, development, and career preparation, as well as their impact on specific social issues in the community. Students are strongly encouraged to review the evaluation rubric for this award prior to completing and submitting their applications. See past recipients linked below as prime examples of the amazing work that has landed previous students this high honor.
The minimum number of hours required to apply for this award is dependent on a student’s required number of service-learning hours.
- For students required to complete 40 service-learning hours, the minimum number of service-learning hours needed to be considered for this award is 200.
- For students required to complete 80 service-learning hours, the minimum number of service-learning hours needed to be considered for this award is 400.
Deadline: The deadline to apply is three weeks prior to the last Tuesday of classes each semester. All materials must be received (and all service-learning hours tracked and verified in Eagle Service Network) by that date to be considered.
