Eagles Educate Student Group
Toggle More InfoEagles Educate is a club primarily (but not limited to ) education majors. The club meets monthly to share educational topics, have special speakers, learn teaching new strategies, mentor new members, and announce ways to be involved with service learning. One of our most popular events is the Mini Conference held in October where the Florida Teacher of the Year, FGCU alumi and current students as well as teachers from Lee and Collier County come to FGCU to be part of a sharing experience of current information in education. Another event is the Real Deal from Beginning Teachers where FGCU grads come to tell us about getting started with their own classrooms. We also have the Real Deal About Internship where current FGCU interns present the lessons they have learned from the experience. We have a banquet in both winter and spring, and active members have the opportunity to travel to conferences and earn the right to wear an Eagles Educate stole at graduation.
Eagles Educate is proud to be part of the FEA, joining over 140,000 teachers across the state of Florida. The goal of one of the largest teachers' unions in America is to be the united voice for excellence in public education in the state of Florida.
For more information about the FEA please go to their website. When education majors enroll for liability insurance, they automatically become a members of both the FEA and Eagles Educate. Liability Insurance is required for acceptance into the COE and more information about this on the College of Education website.
Join us on Facebook and on Eagle Link and watch for announcements.
