Software Adoption
Florida Gulf Coast University has implemented a software adoption process to explore software options and submit software requests proactively, ensuring that all requested software is properly tested, licensed, and deployed by the start of each new term.
Timely adoption of software is essential for a smooth semester start and directly supports student success.
Need Software? Begin the process in two easy steps:
Step 1: Review course needs to identify classroom or lab software required for instruction > Step 2: Submit software requests following the ITS Software Availability, Guidelines, & Requests site by the term deadline.
Remember:
- Department-funded software must go through the Procurement process before submitting a software install request via Workday.
- For new software, include all relevant details such as version numbers, licensing information, and any special configuration requirements by entering a Submit Install Request form.
- Meeting the software request deadline ensures a proactive partnership with ITS to verify software is compatible with existing systems, validate proper licensing, conduct testing to prevent disruptions during instruction, and schedule deployment across all relevant locations.
