Forwarding Your Office Phone
FGCU office phones have been temporarily given the permission to forward to outside phones. These steps must be performed at the phone you wish to forward. Below are steps to perform this new action.
- Ensure your phone has no forwarding currently set by pressing #22
- Begin the forwarding command by pressing *2 at the phone you wish to forward. Examples:
- Local *2 9 239 590 1001
- Long Distance *2 9 1 954 590 1001
- Your phone will beep three times rapidly, and hang-up to confirm completion.
- To confirm it worked, have a co-worker or a third number (not your office phone or number you forwarded to) call your extension to see if it reaches your new forwarded line
- To cancel call forwarding, from your phone dial #22 you should hear 3 quick beeps.
This function will work on a cellphone as long as the number that you are forwarding to has proper cellular signal. At the weakest, it may take up to three rings or more on the office phone to reach the cellphone.
