Scholarly Expectations of FGCU Faculty
Facilitated by: Provost Mark Rieger & Faculty Panelists: Dr. Seneshaw Tsegaye, Dr. Puspa Adhikari, Ms. Brenda Thomas, Dr. Annemarie Connor & Dr. Lan Jiang
The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP) and the Lucas Center for Faculty
Development invite you to a workshop on “Scholarly Expectations of FGCU Faculty.”
Facilitated by Provost Mark Rieger and a faculty panel, we will discuss what it means
to be a successful scholar at FGCU and how scholarship is evaluated for purposes of
annual review and promotion. Faculty panelists will share their pathways to becoming
productive scholars.
This is the first session in a spring 2024 pilot series of workshops that will be packaged into a Faculty Scholarship Academy in the coming year. Pre-promotion faculty and others who are interested in advancing their scholarship are encouraged to attend. Future spring workshops will include topics such as understanding and utilizing the services of ORSP and getting funded through internal and external grant mechanisms. Based on the success of these sessions and with input from faculty participants, we will create sessions to address additional topics, which will be organized into a comprehensive Faculty Scholarship Academy in spring 2025.
This session will be facilitated on Friday, March 1st from 9:30a-11:00a in the Lucas Center (LIB-221).
