“We Cannot Direct the Wind, But We Can Adjust the Sails:” Using UDL to Aid in Adaptation and Flexibility in Our Classrooms

September 14, 2023

The Lucas Center for Faculty Development invites you to:

“We Cannot Direct the Wind, But We Can Adjust the Sails:”
Using UDL to Aid in Adaptation and Flexibility in Our Classrooms
Facilitated by Lucas Fellow, Elizabeth Weatherford

In this session, faculty will be presented with justification and methodology to implement the Universal Design for Learning framework to better adapt to student needs and events that rapidly change our courses, such as illnesses, hurricanes, and pandemics! This session will also show how implementing Universal Design for Learning can also make our courses more flexible and make these rapid changes less cumbersome. Faculty will also have opportunities to discuss their own challenges and successes, and workshop ideas for implementing more flexibility into their courses.

This session will be facilitated on Wednesday, October 4th from 1:30p-2:30p in the Lucas Center (LIB-221) or virtually via Zoom.
