FGCU’s student success team has just rolled out a new virtual campus where students and faculty can find access to the events and resources traditionally available on campus. Below you can find some of the resources available on the new virtual campus. There are many events still being held for faculty and students, so make sure to check out the new website and see what is being offered.

As faculty, it is important to be aware of the different services that students still have access to in the remote environment. At the end of the blog, there is a list of all of the services that can be found on the new virtual campus website for you to reference if needed. One of the services that we would like to highlight in this blog is the Adaptive Services Canvas page. Here you can find all sorts of information such as ADA compliance, setting up extra assessment time on Canvas, and course design for students with disabilities. Adaptive Services has separated each of these sections into different modules so they can be accessed easily. We will host more blogs on our website that will go into more detail about the different resources Adaptive Services have for faculty.

Counseling and Psychological Services also has a section on the new virtual campus where you can direct students for information about online workshops and a link to the CAPS webpage. As we transitioned to remote coursework, the boundaries between work, school, and personal life blurred and our sense of place and time has been impacted by quarantine and social distancing. Under these circumstances, it is necessary that we take appropriate measures to allow ourselves to relax and refocus. Currently, CAPS is providing all services through telehealth, and students can request an appointment or inquire about wellness information by calling (239) 590-7950 or on the web through the virtual campus or the CAPS website. In addition, the university established the FGCU Eagles Care COVID-19 Resources Call Center to assist students, faculty, and staff with pandemic-related challenges they are experiencing. The Eagles Care line is staffed between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm, and messages are reponded to promptly. You can access Eagles Care at 239-590-7728 or Care@fgcu.edu.
