Statistics and Data Science Lab

SDSL is a team of experts with experience in the field of statistics and data analyses from various disciplines such as Business Analytics, Computational and Theoretical Statistics, Data Science, Healthcare and Medical Research, and Emerging Technologies. The team includes faculty and graduate assistants who have demonstrated expertise through pedagogy, scholarly work, and statistical practice.

SDSL operates on funding from grants (federal and state), internal monetary resources, donations from current and potential stakeholders, and revenue generated from consultation.

Researchers (internal and external) submit request(s) for consultation based on their experiments and studies (current and proposed). Clients will be paired with the a team member(s) experienced in the field closely related to researchers goals and objectives.

SDSL continuously evaluates performance through continued and periodic assessment using measures such number of services offered, the value and volume of scholarly work involving SDSL (partially or fully), community engagement, and meeting research goals.

Engage the scientific community (internal and external) through workshops and presentations of scholarly work made possible through collaboration with SDSL.

• SDSL engages in research through consultation, therefore grant writing and IRB process will be handled by the Primary Investigator (PI). However, willing team members are encouraged to collaborate with the PI in broader capacity and involvement.
• SDSL, and its member(s), selected for a project must be acknowledged in scholarly work that involves peer review and publication.
• Additional negotiations such as funding, resource allocation etc. would be between the SDSL team member(s) and the parties involved. However, such agreements and negotiations must be within the SDSL guidelines and in alignment with SDSL’s mission.
