Program Overview

The fully online M.A. in Instructional Design & Ed Tech (IDET) is tailored for those aiming to excel in fields like instructional and learning design, instructional technology, and applied learning research. These careers exist in diverse settings from K-20 to government and corporate training, as well as informal learning environments like museums and libraries. This program opens doors to high-demand careers such as Instructional Designer, Learning & Development Specialist, Learning Experience Designer, Instructional Technologist, Curriculum Developer, and Learning Management System (LMS) Specialist.  Our practitioner-focused curriculum, emphasizing case-based learning and collaboration with our industry and educational partners, prepares you to innovate and lead in your future career.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) projects a 6% growth in employment for instructional coordinators, including instructional designers, from 2020 to 2030. This is driven by the growing need for educational programs in schools, businesses, and other sectors.
