Important Dates
September 15, 2025 - Third Monday in September | Provost’s Office sends out first official call for nominations to faculty, staff, and students |
November 7, 2025 - First Friday in November | Provost’s Office sends out final call/reminder for nominations |
November 21, 2025 - Third Friday in November | Deadline for all Excellence Award nominations |
December 1, 2025 - First Monday in December | Provost’s Office convenes the Excellence Award Selection Committee |
February 2, 2026 - First Monday in February | Portfolios due to the Provost’s Office by 9:00 am |
March 30, 2026 | Submission of Winners’ Names |
April 22, 2026 | Celebration of Excellence Awards |
Nomination Process
The Provost’s Office issues an official call for nominations by the end of September. All nominations shall be submitted to the Provost’s Office by the third Friday in November. Nominations must come from individuals with direct knowledge of the nominee's qualifications in the respective award category. Self-nominations are allowed for all awards. Previous award winners are not eligible to receive an advising award in the same category for a period of three years for scholarship awards, and five years for all other awards.
The one-page nomination letter must include (for all award categories besides team service):
- How the nominator knows the nominee (relationship between the nominator and nominee).
- How long the nominator has known the nominee.
- How the nominee meets the award criteria.

- How the team meets the award criteria.
Nominees include their nomination letter(s) as part of their portfolio in the review of the selection of awards and can be included as part of their letters of support.
