Dr. Suzanne Dugger Appointed as the New Chair and Professor of Counseling
Dear Students, Staff, Faculty & Community Partners,
It is our pleasure to announce the appointment of Dr. Suzanne Dugger as the new Chair and Professor of the Counseling Department starting June 1,2020.
Dr. Dugger received her undergraduate degree from Harvard University, Master’s in Counseling from Central Michigan, and EdD in Counseling Psychology from Western Michigan.
She is moving to Marieb College and the FGCU Department of Counseling from Augusta University in Georgia where she served as a faculty member and department chair during her tenure. In the past Dr. Dugger also served as the Eastern Michigan University Counseling Clinic Coordinator with oversight for operations and reinvigorated the doctoral program at The University of Mississippi.
Dr. Dugger currently serves as Vice Chair for the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP- the national accreditation program for Counseling where she has been on the Board of Directors since 2017). Dr. Dugger’s scholarship includes one authored textbook in career counseling and 3 published manuals; 15 book chapters; 13 peer reviewed articles; 54 conference presentations; and 4 funded grants. She has received awards for teaching, scholarship, research, faculty, and advising in her career. Dr. Dugger is licensed as both a Professional Counselor and a School Counselor.
