MS in Information Systems and Analytics

Information is Power

The Master of Science in Information Systems and Analytics (M.S.) prepares students for leadership positions in which they can move beyond managing a business to improving it through information technology, analytics and business intelligence.

Data is everywhere – and proliferating at an increasing rate. People who can manage, process, preserve, secure, analyze, and interpret data, particularly big data, are in high demand. Managed well, data can offer businesses great competitive advantages, reveal new scientific or business insights, and help solve complex decision problems. The growth of “Big Data” has created a demand for skilled individuals in information systems, analytics, and business intelligence.

The program emphasizes the development of skills needed to succeed in the new world where data-driven decisions, using data analytics, business intelligence, machine learning, and artificial intelligence are becoming common.

Students can select a concentration or track in either Information Systems or Analytics. In the Information Systems track, students will learn about managing data, enterprise information systems, cybersecurity, networking, and web and mobile application development. In the Analytics track, students will learn about predictive analytics, big data analytics, big data management, and state-of-the-art tools for business intelligence. In both tracks, students will learn state-of-the-art programming languages and strategies for using information systems, and analytics for adding value to organizations.
