The Florida Gulf Coast University Lutgert College of Business is proud to announce Nathan Misirian, Founder and President of Autumn Consulting, as the 2026 Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS) Chapter Honoree. Each year, the FGCU chapter of this international honor society recognizes one business leader whose commitment to excellence, mentorship, and service reflects the highest values of the profession.
Beta Gamma Sigma is the exclusive honor society for business programs accredited by
AACSB International, representing the top tier of business schools worldwide. Being
named Chapter Honoree is a distinction reserved for individuals who have demonstrated
sustained, meaningful contributions to the next generation of business professionals.
A Mentor Who Shows Up
For Nathan Misirian, the relationship with FGCU is personal. Both of his children are graduates of the university, and that connection to campus evolved naturally into a deeper investment in its students and programs. Over the years, Misirian has become a familiar presence in the Lutgert College of Business—mentoring marketing students, offering career guidance, and helping young professionals navigate the transition from classroom to career.
“Watching a student realize they belong in this industry—that they have something real to contribute—that’s the moment I work toward,” Misirian said. “The degree gets them in the door. The confidence to stay in the room? That takes someone believing in them out loud.”
Misirian’s mentorship goes beyond scheduled office hours. Students describe him as someone who takes their calls, reviews their portfolios, and connects them with professionals across Southwest Florida. Several former mentees now hold marketing and business development roles in the region—a point of pride for Misirian, who views each success as proof that investing time in others pays dividends far beyond any balance sheet.
Giving Back to the Community That Raised Him Professionally
As a member of the Marketing Advisory Committee in the FGCU Department of Marketing, Misirian helps shape curriculum discussions and ensures students are exposed to the practical, evolving demands of growth marketing and brand strategy. His involvement is driven by a belief that the classroom experience should mirror the complexity of real-world business.
“Southwest Florida has given me a career, a network, and a purpose,” Misirian shared. “Serving on the advisory committee and mentoring students is how I try to give that back. If I can help even one student skip a mistake I made, or see an opportunity I almost missed, it’s worth every minute.”
