A team from the Lutgert College of Business participated in the Fort Myers Walk for Wishes on Saturday, October 2, at Jet Blue Park. The Walk for Wishes® is a nationwide Make-A-Wish fundraiser that supports granting life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. It’s a family-friendly event powered by wish families, volunteers, organizations, donors and friends.

Lutgert College was able to raise $1,935 in donations for this event. Two other FGCU teams, the Honors College and Chi Omega, also participated and together raised $1,670. Combined, FGCU placed third in company donations and raised enough donations to sponsor one wish for a child in the Spring of 2022.

All together the 11th Annual Walk for Wishes raised over $140,000, enough to grant 23 wishes to children in the Southwest Florida community. Since 1980, Make-A-Wish has granted more than 500,000 wishes worldwide for children with critical illnesses.
